Carolynne and Sean were having a church ceremony and their reception at the Hilton Hotel in Basingstoke. The weather wasn’t too promising when I arrived at Carolynne’s mum’s home for her preparation photos. She was getting ready there with her parents, sister in law, her daughter and niece and her friend who was her hairdresser. Carolynne’s flowers were by Miss Mollies Florist and were stunning roses with bright blue accent flowers. Her dress was slim fitting in beaded ivory embroidered fabric with a sweetheart neckline, straps and a beautifully draped low cut back, scalloped hem, long train and lots of sparkle at the waist. Pretty bridesmaids with ivory lace bodices and deep blue pleated skirts matched beautifully.
Sean was at the church meeting and greeting their guests when Carolynne’s car pulled up to the massive glass front door. St Paul’s Church is light and bright with beautiful stained glass windows.
Their ceremony was really lovely with meaningful gifts and stories from the vicar. They had two readings from sister-in-law and Sean’s dad.Although we took their group photographs in the church we had a lucky break in the rain in order to use the gardens at the vicarage for the couple photographs. There are lovely distant views, stunning flowers and a cute swing so it was perfect. On to the Hilton Hotel where their lovely flowers and decorations looked stunning. There were emotional speeches by Dad, the best man, brother and the groom with lovely bouquets for the mums.
It is always really lovely to get some family and friends’ portraits while everyone is looking great and really happy. All Sean and Carolynne’s guests had a chance to relax in the bar and even watch a sneaky bit of the FA Cup.And we had some bridal party and family photographs in the hotel gardenOn to the party where all the children were dancing away and the bride and groom had a lovely first dance and cake cutting. Their cake was very elegant and perfectly matched the colour scheme of their day.
It is wonderful to play a part in capturing a really special day with such lovely people. Thank you Carolynne and Sean for inviting me to be your photographer.
