Back in Basingstoke at Audleys Wood Hotel for my penultimate wedding of 2016, I joined Lucy and her lovely bridesmaids in the Jane Austin Suite for some preparation photographs. Her stunning flowers in various shades of pinks and purples were supplied by Miss Mollies. Lucy and her bridesmaids all wore fresh flowers in their hair. Lucy’s sister, sister in law and mum all popped in to help and check everything was going well. Each of the bridesmaids wore a dress in the same deep shade of blue but each in a different style.Lucy’s ivory gown was intricately embellished with pearl beads and diamanté stones, cut with a fitted bodice, a scooped neckline and capped sleeves, the beautifully crafted skirt fell elegantly into a puddle train. To enhance the smooth and flattering fit, her dress was trimmed at the waist with a satin sash and finished with a cut-out back detail.Aaron arrived in a Rolls Royce Phantom for photographs with his son and all the boys. The boys sorted out the button holes, handed out the order of service to guests and still happily had time to pose for a few photographs. The bride, with her dad and daughter practiced their walk down the aisle in the hallway before actually descending the stairs with all the lovely bridesmaids following behind.Lucy’s brother and sister sang as she entered the ceremony and also as a reading and during the signing of the register. Aaron’s daughter gave an emotional reading which was really moving. The happy couple left their ceremony to champagne, confetti and a warm fur wrap before we went outside for some beautifully natural couple photographs where they braved the chill to stroll around the lovely grounds of their wedding venue with some late autumn colour still in the trees.Back inside for a few more couple photos before the groups where everyone had fun taking their own photographs as well. The wedding breakfast followed in the conservatory which was decorated in a simple Christmassy theme. Lots of fun and laughter followed with speeches from the dads, the groom and his best man. Aaron and his best man have know each other since 1986. Then Aaron’s son handed out all the special gifts. After the meal all the guests gathered in the bar while the DJ and Photo Booth set up for the evening. The party started with Lucy saying a few words before the couple cut their wedding cake and had their first dance as husband and wife. Everyone headed to the dance floor and the children really had some fun.Thank you Lucy and Aaron and all your lovely family and guests for making my job such a pleasure. I hope you went on to have a brilliant evening.
