For my first wedding of 2017 I was back just outside Basingstoke in Hampshire at Audleys Wood Hotel with Jo and James. We had one of those crisp, clear and sunny days that often happen for a few days in February. The kind weather combined with this lovely couple and their brilliant family and friends made everything perfect on the day.
Jo was getting ready in the Jane Austin suite with her Mum and bridesmaids when I arrived.Jo’s gorgeous wedding gown with layers of soft, floaty tulle and delicately sparkling appliqués was from The Bridal Mill, Southampton. The white roses and gypsophila in the bouquets complimented the colour scheme perfectly as Jo’s bridesmaids wore rich, deep blue dresses all slightly different in design.I caught up with James outside Audleys Wood before he became a little emotional upon the arrival of his bride in the ceremony room.James’ Dad did the reading during the ceremony. After the truly beautiful ceremony we were out in the sunshine for some fun with the bridal party especially as I noticed that the tallest of the dads was the one who managed to get the piggy back ride. The boys all looked very smart in their Slaters suits. I couldn’t have asked for a more lovely couple to photograph when we came to their own pictures. The party moved to the Garden Pavilion for the wedding breakfast where they also enjoyed heartfelt speeches by this really close and happy family, but on the way there was time for confetti. The Garden Pavillion was decorated with a continuation of the deep blue theme by Events For U with their usual flair, style and attention to detail.Jo and James cut their wedding cake, made by Iced Heaven, just before the first dance, which took place in front of their family and friends and a giant illuminated LOVE sign leaving no-one in any doubt of their feelings for each other. Then it was on with the party with Simon Carlton as DJ and Rob Haynes providing the photo booth. This was a magical day with a delightful couple. Thank you Jo and James for choosing me as your wedding photographer.
